What's your must-have item in your makeup bag?

Dior Lip gloss icon

In your airline Ziploc?

Kiehl’s hand cream icon, Darphin eye cream, Sonia Dakar toner spray (I spray it in-flight, and it drives people nuts … but I have to be moisturized).

In your evening clutch?

Lip gloss

What brands are we most likely to find in your vanity?

Sonia Dakar skin care is amazing. I travel all the time, and my skin is always being abused by different climates and stress, but thankfully, Sonia Dakar's products really balance me. Nars bronzers icon and nail polishes icon are also fantastic. I wear Bare Escentuals makeup icon (I have tried all makeup – believe me ... and right now I am diggin' this line. It is as basic as it is easy to put on. Plus, it never feels dry and always looks natural. I don't need anything else). YSL – the best liquid liner icon, if you want cat eyes, this is the thing. I buy like four at a time because I am scared the stores will run out. Dior Diorshow Mascara icon (enough said). Dolce & Gabbana perfumesicon, all of them, and Tom Ford perfume icon.

I feel prettiest when ...

I have just gotten my eyebrows shaped (I go to Anastasia in NYC or Marcia at Mario Tricoci in Chicago ).

If I were a magazine, I would be ...

Vanity Fair : smart, cultured and always in-style.

I am always searching for ...

the best new gloss and mascara. It's ridiculous.

My favorite place to shop is ...

Cos Bar in Aspen. It has a plethora of European treats that you cannot find anywhere. I am Russian, and skin care and how to take care of yourself was drilled into me when I was very young. So looking for the best products is something my mother and I do well.

The best beauty tip I ever received was …

smile and have good self-esteem. If you have a pimple, don't point it out to everyone or try to cover it up like crazy, because your own self-confidence will be what makes people notice you, rather than some a fault that you think you have. I am not perfect and I know that, but I am very comfortable in my own skin. I am happy being 33 and getting older each day, and I hope that shows through.

My favorite beauty product from my past was ...

Revlon lipstick in Silver City Pink and Aussie Hair Spray icon ... please ... every time I see that or smell any of them I just laugh because it brings me back.

My most embarrassing beauty moment was …

in high school I would often draw in a “Cindy Crawford mole,” which was completely insane, because I thought I could get away with it.

The first thing I do when I wake up is ...

take a scalding hot shower. I love showers and take them all the time. Everyone always makes fun of me for that, but it rejuvenates me better than any cup of coffee.

The last thing I do before I go to bed is ...

wash my face, brush my teeth and floss, floss, floss.

I could never live without ...

lip gloss and moisturizer.

I could definitely live without ...

Botox and plastic anything.

I will splurge on ...

skin care.

I won't spend more than $10 on ...

body wash.

If I weren't a designer…

I would be a singer.
