Recognized as one of the premier artists working today, Francine Turk is known principally for her charcoal drawings, which strike a balance between linear simplicity and vivid emotion. She enjoys creating abstract and figural work in a variety of mediums including oil, pastel and mixed media.

Francine is inspired by spaces and considers original artwork to "breathe life into an environment" in a way nothing else can. Francine's appreciation for historical detail inspires her use of antique frames, which she restores and hand paints, to complement, or indeed complete, her artwork. "Framing changes a piece dramatically; the two work together to form a whole. I never want someone to have to reframe my work."

Francine's work has been shown nationally and internationally and featured in Hollywood films. Currently, Francine partners with well known designer showrooms Holly Hunt and Niedermaier to offer her signature works of art to a wider audience.

Francine has a working studio and gallery located in Chicago's historic Prairie District, and is open by appointment to visitors, who are invited to meet with Francine one-on-one and view her works in progress.
